My Fourth Design: Erenköy Flower (2 Variations)

I created my fourth design and first flower-like shape on 20 February 2021 (version 1). I created version 2 the other day, on 21 February 2021. It is like the reverse folding of the first version but I don't regard them as two different models.

Erenköy is the place where my family home is and where I created this flower. It is again a Froebel variation, so it is included in my Istanbul series. The second version, as you'll see from the main picture, is duo colored.

How to Make Erenköy Flower

Version 1

Step 1

Start with Kilyos base. You can find it here.

Step 2

Fold the squashed parts in, towards the open corners.

Step 3

Fold the same parts back.

Step 4

Repeat three more times.

Step 5

Fold the pointed part in between downwards to the middle.

Step 6

Repeat three more times.

Step 7

Turn the model over.

Step 8

Fold each side of the four corners, just like a flower.

Step 9

Hold one corner in the middle and fold up. 

Step 10

Repeat three more times.

Step 11

Squash the bottom square to give it a flower-like finish.

Version 2:

Step 1

First four steps are the same with the version 1.

Step 2

Turn the model over. 

Step 3

Fold the sides of the corners like a flower. This is basically step 8 above.

Step 4

Repeat three more times. 

Step 5

Turn the model over. Find the square at the bottom. (You can use these step to clarify the last step of the version 1.)

Step 6

Squash fold the square. (You can use these two steps to clarify the last step of the version 1.)

Step 7

Turn the model over. Mind that four little corners is pointing upwards.
