My Forty-Fifth Design: Topkapi Flower

I created this design on 6 June 2021. I was just playing with grids, and it looked like both a flower and a satellite.

How to fold the Topkapi flower

Step 1

Prepare a square paper with 8x8 grids.

Step 2

Turn the paper over and crease all the diagonals except corners.

Step 3

Fold the first grid back and make the four squares in the middle prominent.

Step 4

Squash fold the paper as shown.

Step 5

Fold down the triangles around the middle part.

Step 6

Accordion fold the "arms".

Step 7

Repeat on all the arms.

Step 8

Turn the model over and fold the sides like that to lock the flower.

Step 9

Your flower is ready.
