My Twenty-Fourth Design: Istinye Box

 I created Istinye box on 4 April 2021.

There are similar Froebel boxes around. It's difference here is how the lid is closed.

I've found five lid variations of the box. But it's possible that you may find more.

I'll only show the one with the Kilos base here. I used traditional Masu box for the container part.

How to fold the Istinye box lid

Step 1

Fold the windmill base.

Step 2

Fold the corners in the middle.

Step 3

Squash fold all the corners.

Step 4

Fold the side flaps inside like that. You'll have a square.

Step 5

Repeat three more times.

Step 6

Fold all the middle corners up. We have the Kilyos base. If you like, you can hold the other middle flaps up, too.

 

Step 7

Now let's make it a lid. Fold one side only this much (to the limit of the squash fold).

Step 8

Repeat three more times.

Step 9

Place the lid on the Masu box. The importance thing here is that two part should be folded from the same size of paper. And thicker paper will hold better but Kami works, too.
