My Twenty-Fifth Design: Butterfly Flower

I created this design on 10 April 2021. It's a combination of a butterfly and a flower. So, you can use it the either way.

As the stem I used ordinary chenille stems. But chopsticks and wires will also work.

How to Fold the Butterfly Flower

Step 1

Prepare a square paper.

Step 2

Fold the paper in half.

Step 3

Fold the other half, too.

Step 4

Fold one side to the middle.

Step 5

Fold the opposite side to the middle.

Step 6

Turn the model over.

Step 7

Fold the sides into the middle. But don't fold the outer edges.

Step 8

Fold the model in half, as seen below.

Step 9

Fold the bottom corners.

Step 10

Fold the bottom corners inside. But don't forget the little flap.

Step 11

Fold the inner flap inside as shown below.

Step 12

Repeat on the other side.

Step 13

Fold a corner like that.

Step 14

Repeat three more times.

Step 15

Fold a wing down following the lines.

Step 16

Repeat for the other wing.

Step 17

Fold one of the flaps inside to the side. You can leave it like that if you want a butterfly.

Step 18

Fold the other flap inside, too. But you have to open the first one. And then repeat the steps.

Step 19

Fold the inner corner back for a wing-like look.

Step 20

Repeat three more times.

Step 21

Fold the pointy parts inside to shape the wings.

Step 22

Repeat three more times. You can shape the wings more. The butterfly flower is ready.

Step 23

You can add a stem by wrapping around it or simply place in it.
