My Eighty-Eighth Design: Simple Calix for Kawasaki Rose

I created this design on 28 August 2021 but forgot to publish it, thinking it wasn't a design. I needed a simple calix for my sister's wedding bouquet. There is one but it's complicated and I was racing with time. This takes a little time. (It's actually a Froebel variation.) You can glue it to the rose and put a stem later.

How to fold the simple calix

Step 1

Fold a windmill base.

Step 2

Fold the corners in fourths.

Step 3

Sink fold the corners.

Step 4

Open up and fold the diamond flaps as shown.

Step 5

We need the narrow the base. So, fold the side inside as much as the paper lets you.

Step 6

Repeat three more times.

Step 7

You can squash the bottom a little.

Step 8

You can shape the petals.
