My Eighty-Second Design: Mimi Star

I created this design on 25 September 2021. The name comes from my origami friend Mimi, who celebrated her 39th birthday.

How to fold the Mimi Star

Step 1

Fold a square base. 

Step 2

Fold like the bird base for the octagonal lines.

Step 3

Fold the flaps inside.

Step 4

Fold the bottom corner to the middle and then to the new line.

Step 5

Sink fold the octagon.

Step 6

Flatten the octagon and rotate the paper to the direction you like.

Step 7

Open up the paper but be gentle to it.

Step 8

Turn the paper over and fold the lines as show. The paper will be helpful, so you'll understand.

Step 9

Then fold the opposite sides as shown. 

Step 10

Fold the in between parts as shown.

Step 11

You can fold further to take the paper as backwards as possible.

Step 12

Turn the paper over and open up the pockets a little so that it looks like movement.
