I designed this on 5 August 2021, after the fires that affected Turkey's Mediterranean and Aegean coasts. Manavgat isn't the only place that burned down but is the first place. These are sort of performative pieces that look like the traditional lily. But they are flat and can stand on their own.
I'll add the steps for the variations. If you want to stack them, you can fold a smaller size and just put it inside the bigger one.
How to fold the Manavgat unit
Step 1
Fold 4x4 grids.
Step 2
Fold the diagonals of the inner rectangles.
Repeat three more times. You'll have a star-like crease in the middle.
Make the octagon in the middle prominent by mountain folding the shorter sides.
Fold the larger diagonals but until the octagon in the middle.
Work on the larger side. Made the little triangle prominent and valley fold the rest of the diagonal.
Repeat the previous step three more times.
This is how it looks on the sides.
Fold the flaps inside as shown.
Repeat three more times.
Unfold and inside fold them.
Pinch fold the corners so that "the tree" stays closed.
Let's go on with the flower. Unfold the pinch folds and start opening the petals. We already have the crease for that.
Open all the petals.
Fold the sides longer this time so that the flower can stay intact.
